SB561,1,5 An Act relating to: amending and revising under section 10.53 of the statutes various provisions of sections 10.62 to 10.82 of the statutes for the purpose of correcting conflicts between the listings in sections 10.62 to 10.82 of the statutes and the substantive statutes to which those sections refer (Revisor's Correction Bill).

This bill confirms changes made by the revisor of statutes under section 10.53 of the statutes and included in the printed 2001-2002 Wisconsin Statutes. The individual changes made by this revisor's correction bill are explained in the Notes provided by the revisor of statutes in the body of the bill.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

SB561, s. 1 Section 1. 10.66 (4) (n) 1. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,2,4 10.66 (4) (n) 1. On the Monday before the spring primary the municipal clerk publishes a type B notice whenever a primary for municipal offices or a municipal referendum is scheduled. A type B notice is also published if the municipality utilizes voting machines or an electronic voting system employing a ballot card or label in which ballots are distributed to electors. If there is a spring primary, municipal clerks also publish a type D notice on this date. See s. 10.06 (3) (b), (d), and (e).

Note: Conforms provision to s. 10.06 (3) (e) as amended by 2001 Wis. Act 16.

SB561, s. 2 Section 2. 10.66 (4) (o) (title) of the statutes is created to read:

SB561,2,6 10.66 (4) (o) (title) 3rd Tuesday in February.

Note: The other paragraphs in the subsection have titles.

SB561, s. 3 Section 3. 10.66 (4) (o) 1. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,2,10 10.66 (4) (o) 1. 5 p.m. on the day of the primary is the deadline for hospitalized electors to make application for an absentee ballot by agent or to file a registration form by agent. See s. 6.86 (3) (c).

Note: Conforms provision to s. 6.86 (3) (c) as amended by 2001 Wis. Act 51.

SB561, s. 4 Section 4. 10.66 (5) (n) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,2,12 10.66 (5) (n) 2. Vacancies may be filled in within 4 days. See s. 7.38 (2).

Note: Makes language consistent with s. 7.38 (2).

SB561, s. 5 Section 5. 10.66 (6) (a) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,2,16 10.66 (6) (a) 2. 5 p.m. on the day of the spring election is the deadline for hospitalized electors to make application for an absentee ballot by agent or to file a registration form by agent. See s. 6.86 (2) (3) (c).

Note: Conforms provision to s. 6.86 (3) (c) as amended by 2001 Wis. Act 51. The times referred to in this provision are provided in s. 6.86 (3) (c), not in s. 6.86 (2).

SB561, s. 6 Section 6. 10.70 (3) (g) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,2,20 10.70 (3) (g) 2. 5 p.m. on the day of the primary is the deadline for hospitalized electors to make application for an absentee ballot by agent or to file a registration form by agent. See s. 6.86 (3) (c).

Note: Conforms provision to s. 6.86 (3) (c) as amended by 2001 Wis. Act 51.

SB561, s. 7 Section 7. 10.70 (5) (c) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,3,4 10.70 (5) (c) 2. 5 p.m. on the day of the election is the deadline for hospitalized electors to make application for an absentee ballot by agent or to file a registration form by agent. See s. 6.86 (3) (c).

Note: Conforms provision to s. 6.86 (3) (c) as amended by 2001 Wis. Act 51.

SB561, s. 8 Section 8. 10.76 (4) (f) 4. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,3,10 10.76 (4) (f) 4. On the Monday before the September primary, the municipal clerk publishes type B and D notices for the primary. If voting machines or electronic voting systems employing a ballot card or label in which ballots are distributed to electors are used in the municipality, the type B notice shall include all offices to be voted on at the primary. See s. ss. 10.01 (2) (d) and 10.06 (3) (e).

Note: Conforms provision to s. 10.06 (3) (e) as amended by 2001 Wis. Act 16. Clarifies the "notice" referred to. Adds cross-reference to indicate authority for giving the type D notice.

SB561, s. 9 Section 9. 10.76 (4) (g) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB561,3,14 10.76 (4) (g) 2. 5 p.m. on the day of the primary is the deadline for hospitalized electors to make application for an absentee ballot by agent or to file a registration form by agent. See s. 6.86 (3) (c).

SB561, s. 10 Section 10. 10.76 (6) (a) 4. of the statutes is amended to read:
