SR10,1,3 1To renumber senate rule 14 and senate rule 91; to repeal and recreate senate rule
214 (title); and to create senate rule 14 (2) and senate rule 91 (2); relating to:
3the ending time of the daily sessions of the senate.

This resolution provides that the senate sessions will end no later than
midnight. However, the resolution permits a majority of the members to suspend the
rule to complete the consideration of the proposal that is being considered at
midnight. Otherwise, the senate is prohibited from being in session between
midnight and 7 a.m.

SR10, s. 1 5Section 1. Senate rule 14 (title) is repealed and recreated to read:
SR10,1,6 6Senate Rule 14 (title) Daily sessions; convening, adjournment.
SR10, s. 2 7Section 2. Senate rule 14 is renumbered senate rule 14 (1).
SR10, s. 3 8Section 3. Senate rule 14 (2) is created to read:

1Senate Rule 14 (2) The daily session of the senate ends at midnight unless
2adjourned earlier. The senate may not conduct business during the hours between
3midnight and 7 a.m., except as provided under rule 91 (2).
SR10, s. 4 4Section 4. Senate rule 91 is renumbered senate rule 91 (1).
SR10, s. 5 5Section 5. Senate rule 91 (2) is created to read:
SR10,2,8 6Senate Rule 91 (2) Rule 14 (2) may be suspended by a majority of the members
7present and voting, but the suspension under this subsection only applies to the
8completion of the consideration of the proposal that is being considered at midnight.
