SR16,1,2 1Relating to: the achievement of a Silver Star by Tech. Sergeant William Markham
2for his service to our country in Afghanistan.
SR16,1,43 Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham was honored with the Silver Star
4for his brave service to the United States in Afghanistan; and
SR16,1,75 Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham was the first airman in
6Afghanistan, as well as the sole special operations member behind enemy lines for
7many weeks; and
SR16,1,108 Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham courageously flew through enemy
9territory mapping out any dangers for the allied forces as targets and making the air
10strikes in Afghanistan a success; and
SR16,1,1211 Whereas, the Silver Star is awarded to those who show great gallantry in action
12against a United States enemy and is one of the top honors given; and
SR16,2,213 Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham has clearly and with distinction
14shown great gallantry in Afghanistan and has earned not only the honor of the Silver

1Star but also the grateful thanks and respect of the citizens of Wisconsin, this senate,
2and the entire Unites States of America, which he defended; now, therefore, be it
SR16,2,5 3Resolved by the senate, That the members of the Wisconsin senate commend
4Tech. Sergeant William Markham for his gallantry in action and express their
5appreciation of all that he has given to Wisconsin and his country; and, be it further
SR16,2,7 6Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution to
7Tech. Sergeant William Markham and his family.
