AB1167,1,3 1An Act to create 66.0145 of the statutes; relating to: authorizing a property
2owner to have his or her name removed from a governmental Internet listing
3of property taxes assessed.

Under this bill, a taxation district (district) that imposes property taxes is
required to remove the name of a property owner, upon the owner's request, from an
Internet listing of property taxes assessed by the district. The bill also requires the
taxation district to allow the property owner to remove his or her name from the
Internet listing. Such an Internet listing may contain the property taxes assessed
by the district for each parcel number or street address within the jurisdiction.
The bill also specifically authorizes a district to maintain records in its offices
that contain the property taxes assessed by the district for each parcel number or
street address within the jurisdiction, and these office records may also contain the
name of the property owner.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB1167, s. 1 4Section 1. 66.0145 of the statutes is created to read:

166.0145 Listing of property tax assessments. (1) If a taxation district
2maintains an Internet listing of property taxes assessed within the jurisdiction and
3if that listing contains the name of the property owner against whom the assessment
4is made, the taxation district shall remove the property owner's name from the
5Internet listing upon the property owner's request. The taxation district shall also
6allow the property owner to remove his or her name directly from the Internet listing.
7The Internet listing may contain the amount of property taxes assessed for each
8parcel number or street address within the jurisdiction.
AB1167,2,11 9(2) A taxation district may maintain records in the taxation district's offices
10that contain a list of property taxes assessed by the taxation district for each parcel
11number or street address, and such a listing may include the property owner's name.

AB1167,2,1413 (1) This act takes effect on the first day of the third month beginning after
14publication.
