This bill prohibits any person from possessing, controlling, storing, or transporting live fish known as Asian carp.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB470, s. 1 Section 1. 29.425 of the statutes is created to read:

AB470,1,5 29.425 Possession of Asian carp. No person may possess, control, store, or transport a live Asian carp or its viable eggs.

AB470, s. 2 Section 2. Initial applicability.

AB470,1,8 (1) This act first applies to Asian carp or their eggs that are acquired on the effective date of this subsection.
