AB516,1,3 1An Act relating to: requiring the Group Insurance Board to prepare a report on
2offering group health insurance plans at different cost levels to local
3government employers and employees.

This bill requires the Group Insurance Board to study the feasibility of
developing a group health insurance plan with at least three cost levels and a
low-cost health insurance plan that provides coverage for catastrophic illness or
injury.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB516, s. 1 4Section 1 . Nonstatutory provisions.
AB516,1,55 (1) Group insurance board study.
AB516,1,86 (a) The group insurance board shall consult with representatives of group
7insurance plans regarding the feasibility of developing the following plans for
8employers to offer their employees under section 40.51 (7) of the statutes:

11. A group health insurance plan with at least 3 cost levels, for the purpose of
2offering a greater choice of plans based on cost to employers and employees.
AB516,2,4 32. A low-cost health insurance plan that provides coverage for catastrophic
4illness or injury.
AB516,2,75 (b) The group insurance board shall report its findings under paragraph (a) to
6the governor and to the legislature in the manner provided under section 13.172 (2)
7of the statutes no later than July 1, 2007.
