2cosmetology examining board.

Under current law, the barbering and cosmetology examining board (board)
consists of nine members appointed for four-year terms. The board consists of four
members who are licensed barbers or cosmetologists, two public members, one
member who is a representative of a private school of barbering or cosmetology, one
member who is a representative of a public school of barbering or cosmetology, and
one member who is a licensed electrologist.
Under this bill, an aesthetician may serve on the board, but the bill does not
change the number of members on the board.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB777, s. 1 3Section 1. 15.405 (17) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB777,2,74 15.405 (17) Barbering and cosmetology examining board. There is created a
5barbering and cosmetology examining board in the department of regulation and
6licensing. The barbering and cosmetology examining board shall consist of 9

1members appointed for 4-year terms. Four members shall be licensed barbers,
2aestheticians,
or cosmetologists, 2 members shall be public members, one member
3shall be a representative of a private school of barbering or cosmetology, one member
4shall be a representative of a public school of barbering or cosmetology and one
5member shall be a licensed electrologist. Except for the 2 members representing
6schools, no member may be connected with or have any financial interest in a
7barbering or cosmetology school.
