AB815,1,2 1An Act to amend 1.10 (4); and to create 1.10 (3) (s) of the statutes; relating to:
2designating a state tartan.

Current law designates a state song, ballad, waltz, dance, symbol of peace,
beverage, tree, grain, flower, bird, fish, animal, domestic animal, wildlife animal,
dog, insect, fossil, mineral, rock, soil, and fruit. This bill designates a state tartan.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB815, s. 1 3Section 1. 1.10 (3) (s) of the statutes is created to read:
AB815,2,34 1.10 (3) (s) The tartan whose thread count is described in this paragraph is the
5state tartan. The thread count for the state tartan shall begin with 44 threads of
6muted blue, followed by 6 threads of scarlet, 4 threads of muted blue, 6 threads of
7gray, 28 threads of black, 40 threads of dark green, 4 threads of dark yellow, 40
8threads of dark green, 28 threads of black, 22 threads of muted blue, and 12 threads

1of dark brown, at which point the weave reverses, going through 22 threads of muted
2blue, and continuing the sequence in reverse order until the weave reaches the
3beginning point of 44 threads of muted blue, at which point the weave reverses again.
AB815, s. 2 4Section 2. 1.10 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB815,2,85 1.10 (4) The Wisconsin Blue Book shall include the information contained in
6this section concerning the state song, ballad, waltz, dance, beverage, tree, grain,
7flower, bird, fish, animal, domestic animal, wildlife animal, dog, insect, fossil,
8mineral, rock, soil, and fruit, and tartan.
