2and refund offers.

This bill prohibits a retailer from offering a refund or rebate to a buyer in this
state, unless the retailer allows the buyer 30 days after purchasing the goods to
satisfy the conditions of the retailer's offer and ensures that the buyer receives the
refund or rebate within 30 days after satisfying the conditions.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB948, s. 1 3Section 1. 100.179 of the statutes is created to read:
AB948,1,6 4100.179 Rebate and refund offers by retailers. No retailer may offer to
5refund or rebate to a buyer in this state all or a portion of the sale price of goods unless
6all of the following apply:
AB948,1,9 7(1) The retailer allows the buyer not less than 30 days from the date on which
8the buyer purchases the goods from the retailer to satisfy the conditions of the
9retailer's offer.

1(2) The retailer ensures that the buyer receives the refund or rebate within 30
2days after the buyer satisfies the conditions of the retailer's offer.

AB948,2,54 (1) This act takes effect on the first day of the 6th month beginning after the
5effective date of this subsection.
AB948, s. 3 6Section 3. Initial applicability.
AB948,2,87 (1) This act first applies to sales of goods occurring on the effective date of this
8subsection.
