AJR1,1,53 Whereas, Marine Lance Corporal Shane K. O'Donnell, at the age of 24, died on
4November 8, 2004, in an explosion during combat operations in Babil province south
5of Baghdad, Iraq; and
AJR1,1,86 Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell was a United States Marine assigned to G Company,
72nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division (Fleet Marine Forces),
8and completed his training at Camp Pendleton, California; and
AJR1,1,109 Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell was activated on June 1, 2004, and deployed to Iraq
10in September 2004 for a 6-month tour of duty; and
AJR1,1,1211 Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell graduated with honors from De Forest High School in
121999, where he played on the football team and participated in choir; and
AJR1,1,1413 Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell earned a degree from Madison Area Technical College
14in 2004; and

1Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell was employed as a professional plumber with Hooper
2Corporation in Madison, Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it
AJR1,2,6 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
4Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Marine Lance Corporal Shane K.
5O'Donnell, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his
6family and friends; and, be it further
AJR1,2,9 7Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
8resolution to Cpl. O'Donnell's father and stepmother, Larry and Diana O'Donnell, of
9De Forest; and to his mother, Peg O'Donnell, of De Forest.
