AJR99,1,76 Whereas, nearly one in 5 workers in Wisconsin are directly employed in
7manufacturing; and
AJR99,1,98 Whereas, manufacturing wages in Wisconsin are above the national average
9for manufacturing wages; and
AJR99,1,1210 Whereas, Wisconsin leads the nation in the manufacture of such diverse
11products as cheese, small engines, surface mining equipment, fire trucks, medical
12imaging equipment, and paper; and
AJR99,1,1413 Whereas, manufacturing represents a significant portion of the local economy
14in virtually every county in Wisconsin; and

1Whereas, $14 billion worth of Wisconsin-manufactured products are exported
2to countries around the world; and
AJR99,2,43 Whereas, Wisconsin manufacturers are meeting the challenge of global
4competition through innovation and productivity gains; and
AJR99,2,65 Whereas, manufacturing provides exciting, high-tech career opportunities
6with excellent pay and benefits; now, therefore, be it
AJR99,2,10 7Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
8Wisconsin legislature salute Wisconsin's manufacturers and their employees for
9helping build a stronger economy for our families, our communities, and Wisconsin's
10future, and proclaim May 2006 as Manufacturing Month in the state of Wisconsin.
