SB183,1,3 1An Act to amend 560.25 (4) of the statutes; relating to: increasing the
2maximum amount of grants to certain organizations that provide support to a
3manufacturing extension center and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Commerce may make grants up to
$1,500,000 in each fiscal year to technology-based organizations to provide support
to manufacturing extension centers. This bill increases the limit to $2,000,000 and
increases a general purpose revenue appropriation for grants under the program.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

SB183,2,72 (1) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation
3to the department of commerce under section 20.143 (1) (fj) of the statutes, as affected
4by the acts of 2005, the dollar amount is increased by $1,150,000 for fiscal year
52005-06 and the dollar amount is increased by $1,150,000 for fiscal year 2006-07 for
6grants to technology-based nonprofit organizations to provide support for a
7manufacturing extension center.

SB183,2,109 (1) This act takes effect on July 1, 2005, on the 2nd day after publication of the
102005-07 biennial budget act, or on the day after publication, whichever is latest.
