SB513,1,2 1An Act relating to: increasing aid to Forward Wisconsin, Inc., and making an
2appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law authorizes the Department of Commerce to contract with Forward
Wisconsin, Inc., to establish and implement a nationwide business development
promotion campaign to attract new businesses to this state and to encourage the
retention and expansion of businesses and jobs in this state. Payments to Forward
Wisconsin, Inc., under such a contract may not exceed the amount that Forward
Wisconsin, Inc., has raised from private contributions. Currently, $320,000 in
general purpose revenues (GPR) is appropriated in each of fiscal years 2005-06 and
2006-07 for such payments. This bill increases the amount appropriated for such
payments in the fiscal year 2006-07 by $590,000 GPR.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
