SJR3,1,1 1Relating to: the life and military service of Marine Corporal Robert Warns II.
SJR3,1,52 Whereas, Corporal Robert "Bobby" Warns II was born on May 2, 1981, in
3Waukesha, Wisconsin, and died on November 8, 2004, near Lutafiyah, Iraq, while
4serving on patrol with Lance Corporals Shane K. O'Donnell and Branden Ramey
5when they were hit by a buried improvised explosive device; and
SJR3,1,96 Whereas, Corporal Warns served with distinction and honor as a member of
7Company G, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division
8(Reinforced), Fleet Marine Force, based in Madison, Wisconsin, while attached to the
9first Marine Expeditionary Force in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; and
SJR3,1,1110 Whereas, Corporal Warns was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church since
11198l; and
SJR3,2,212 Whereas, Corporal Warns graduated in 1999 from Catholic Memorial High
13School in Waukesha, was to have been a senior majoring in management information
14systems at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and had anticipated a promising

1career in management information systems upon his anticipated return home from
2service in Iraq; and
SJR3,2,43 Whereas, his child will be born into a world safe from tyranny in the spring of
42005; and
SJR3,2,65 Whereas, Corporal Warns dreamed of being in the military and dreamed of
6serving his country proudly; and
SJR3,2,87 Whereas, Corporal Warns made the ultimate sacrifice for his country while
8advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people; and
SJR3,2,109 Whereas, Corporal Warns will always be remembered for his bravery and
10courage and will never be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
SJR3,2,14 11Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
12Wisconsin legislature honor Corporal Robert "Bobby" Warns II for his dedication to
13our country and express their heartfelt sorrow over the loss of his life and extend
14their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
SJR3,2,18 15Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
16resolution to Corporal Warns' parents, Robert and Bridget Warns, to his sister, Katie
17Riesch, to his paternal grandparents, Norman and Dorothy Warns, to his maternal
18grandmother, Rosaleen McDermott, and to his girlfriend, Erin Nielson.
