SJR51,1,32 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was born in Montpelier on March 29, 1927, and
3died in Luxemburg on October 26, 2005, at the age of 78; and
SJR51,1,54 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg attended Kewaunee High School, followed by
5marriage to his wife, Bernice Hannemann; and
SJR51,1,76 Whereas, the couple had 4 children, Kenneth, James, Debra, and Brenda, and
7is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Loren, Heather, Kristin, and Jacob; and
SJR51,1,108 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg believed in service to God where he served at
9St. John Lutheran Church as elder, trustee, steward, and church council president;
10and
SJR51,1,1211 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg believed in service to his country where he
12served in the Army until he was discharged at the end of World War II in 1946; and
SJR51,1,1413 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was employed as a mechanic by Luxemburg
14Implement for 18 years: and

1Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was elected supervisor for the town of
2Luxemberg in 1969 and chairman in 1974 where he held the position for 31 years;
3and
SJR51,2,54 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was appointed to the Kewaunee County Board
5in 1974 and elected chairman in 1982 where he held the position for 18 years; and
SJR51,2,96 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg believed in service to his community where he
7served as the District Clerk of the McKinley School District, chairman of the
8Luxemberg Community Fire & Rescue Association, chairman of the Wisconsin
9Counties Association and countless other organizations; and
SJR51,2,1310 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was appointed by Governor Thompson to serve
11on the National Community Service Board; he also served on the board of Farmer
12Trading Co. and as a member of the Kewaunee County Farm Bureau for over 50
13years; and
SJR51,2,1614 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was recognized for his long-time service and
15dedication to his family, friends, and constituents with a Community Service Award
16in 1992 by the Luxemberg Community Chamber of Commerce; and
SJR51,2,1917 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was a great man of leadership, faith, and
18principle in the Luxemberg community for the duration of his life; now, therefore, be
19it
SJR51,2,22 20Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin
21legislature commends the life and public service of Harold J. Reckelberg, expresses
22sorrow at his death, and extends its condolences to his family and friends.
