SJR58,1,6 2Whereas, Army Sergeant (SGT) Andrew Wallace was born on May 26, 1980, in
3West Union, Iowa, and died on Monday, September 26, 2005, in Shaibah, Iraq, when
4an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy
5operations; and the HMMWV was also attacked by enemy forces using small arms
6fire; and
SJR58,1,7 7Whereas, SGT Wallace graduated from Ripon High School in 1998; and
SJR58,1,98 Whereas, SGT Wallace earned his bachelor's degree from the University of
9Wisconsin-Oshkosh; and
SJR58,1,1210 Whereas, SGT Wallace was a physical education teacher at Emmeline Cook
11Elementary School in Oshkosh and a WIAA sports official for softball, baseball, and
12football; and
SJR58,1,1413 Whereas, SGT Wallace was an adaptive physical education teacher and an
14assistant wrestling coach at Oshkosh North High School; and

1Whereas, SGT Wallace was a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard
2deployed with the Charlie Company 2nd Battalion 127th Infantry; and
SJR58,2,43 Whereas, SGT Wallace married his wife, Angie Hill, on July 20, 2004, in
4Pewaukee, Wisconsin; and
SJR58,2,65 Whereas, SGT Wallace was a devoted husband, son, brother, teacher, friend,
6and soldier; and
SJR58,2,87 Whereas, SGT Wallace made a tremendous positive influence on those who
8knew him and was wise beyond his 25 years; and
SJR58,2,109 Whereas, SGT Wallace was posthumously awarded the Teacher of the Year
10Award for the state of Wisconsin; and
SJR58,2,1211 Whereas, SGT Wallace made the ultimate sacrifice for his country while
12working towards freedom for the people of Iraq; and
SJR58,2,1513 Whereas, SGT Wallace will always be remembered for his loyalty and duty for
14the Army, for the cause of freedom, and for his love and devotion for his family and
15friends, and he will never be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
SJR58,2,19 16Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
17Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Army Sergeant Andrew Wallace of
18Oshkosh, Wisconsin, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences
19to his family and friends; and, be it further
SJR58,3,2 20Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
21resolution to SGT Wallace's wife, Angela Wallace of Oshkosh; his mother and
22stepfather, Janie and Joel Brockman of Ripon; his father and stepmother, Peter and
23Sue Wallace of Fox Lake; mother and father in-law, Mike and Karen Hill of Wales;
24grandparents, Vern Keune, Les and Betty Wallace, Greg and Pat Hertel, John and

1Cheryl Hill, and Shirley and Bo Vanman; and his great-grandparents, Cecelia and
2Erv Krolikowski.
