AB383,1,2 1An Act relating to: increasing funding for local youth apprenticeship grants and

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Workforce Development awards grants
to local partnerships for the implementation and coordination of local youth
apprenticeship programs under which employers are recruited to provide
on-the-job training and supervision for students who are recruited to participate in
those programs. Currently, $1,100,000 in general purpose revenues (GPR) is
appropriated in each of fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07 for those grants. This bill
increases the amount appropriated for those grants by $1,100,000 GPR in each of
fiscal years 2007-08 and 2008-09.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
