AB42,1,2 1An Act to amend 15.05 (1) (c) of the statutes; relating to: the appointment of
2the secretary of natural resources.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the secretary of natural resources is nominated by the
governor, and with the advice and consent of the senate appointed, to serve at the
pleasure of the governor. Under this bill, the Natural Resources Board appoints the
secretary of natural resources. The change takes effect on January 3, 2011, which
is inauguration day for most state constitutional officers.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB42, s. 1 3Section 1. 15.05 (1) (c) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB42,1,64 15.05 (1) (c) The secretary of natural resources shall be nominated by the
5governor, and with the advice and consent of the senate appointed, to serve at the
6pleasure of the governor. This paragraph does not apply after January 2, 2011.
