AB534,1,2 1An Act to create 134.655 of the statutes; relating to: prohibiting the sale of
2cigarettes containing nicotine and providing a penalty.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

This bill prohibits the sale of cigarettes containing nicotine. Violators are
subject to a fine not to exceed $10,000.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB534, s. 1 3Section 1. 134.655 of the statutes is created to read:

AB534,1,5 4134.655 Cigarettes; nicotine prohibited. (1) In this section, "cigarette" has
5the meaning given in s. 139.30 (1m).

AB534,1,7 6(2) No person may sell to a person in this state a cigarette that contains
7nicotine.

1(3) Any person who violates this section is subject to a fine not to exceed
2$10,000.
