AB936,1,2
1An Act to create 16.045 (6) of the statutes;
relating to: biodiesel fuel
2requirement in state-owned or state-leased trucks.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Administration (DOA) must generally
require all state employees to use hybrid-electric vehicles or vehicles that operate
on gasohol or other alternative fuels, which is defined to include biodiesel fuel,
methanol, natural gas, electricity, or solar energy. Under this bill DOA must require
all offices, departments, independent agencies, higher education institutions,
associations, societies, the legislature, the courts, and other bodies in state
government that use state-owned or state-leased diesel-burning trucks to use
biodiesel fuel that contains at least 5 percent biodiesel fuel unless the requirement
would be cost prohibitive.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB936, s. 1
