Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) may
determine reasonable apprenticeship classifications, promulgate rules, issue
general or special orders, hold hearings, make findings, and render orders as
necessary to oversee the apprenticeship programs provided in this state. This bill
appropriates $300,000 to DWD in fiscal year 2008-09 for the administration of
apprenticeship programs in trades in the rubber and plastics, printing, utilities, and
health care industries.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB963,2,45 (1) Apprenticeship programs. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the
6statutes for the appropriation to the workforce development under section 20.445 (1)

1(a) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2007, the dollar amount is increased by
2$300,000 for fiscal year 2008-09 for the administration of apprenticeship programs
3under subchapter I of chapter 106 of the statutes in trades in the rubber and plastics,
4printing, utilities, and health care industries.
