AJR109,1,2 1Relating to: recognizing the efforts of the Transition Assistance Advisor Program
2in Wisconsin.
AJR109,1,53 Whereas, following the attacks of September 11, 2001, more than 11,550
4military personnel have been called to active duty by the Wisconsin National Guard
5and Reserves to provide security at home and combat terrorism abroad; and
AJR109,1,96 Whereas, the National Guard Bureau created the Transition Assistance
7Advisor Program, which has been authorized by the Wisconsin National Guard to
8serve Wisconsin military personnel and their families as a statewide point of contact
9in accessing veterans benefits, programs, and services; and
AJR109,1,1410 Whereas, the transition assistance advisor has developed a strong state
11coalition of community partnerships with county and tribal veterans service offices
12across the state as well as with the Department of Defense, the Department of Labor,
13the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Employer Support for the Guard and
14Reserve, and veterans service organizations; and

1Whereas, the transition assistance advisor is enthusiastic and passionate
2about facilitating a smooth transition for Wisconsin military personnel as they
3depart active duty for civilian life, especially those returning with service-related
4special needs; and
AJR109,2,85 Whereas, the Transition Assistance Advisor Program assists Wisconsin
6National Guard members and their families with services such as counseling,
7rehabilitative health care management, and assisting with employment and
8reemployment challenges; now, therefore, be it
AJR109,2,12 9Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
10Wisconsin legislature express support for the Transition Assistance Advisor
11Program and the services it provides for members of the Wisconsin National Guard
12and Reserves as they return from active duty to civilian life; and, be it further
AJR109,2,15 13Resolved, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature encourage all
14returning service members to utilize the services provided by the Transition
15Assistance Advisor Program; and, be it further
AJR109,2,18 16Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
17resolution to the transition assistance advisor in the Wisconsin Department of
18Military Affairs.
