AJR113,1,53 Whereas, Brett Favre, born on October 10, 1969, in Gulfport, Mississippi, took
4over the reins as the Green Bay Packers quarterback on September 20, 1992, and led
5the team in 275 ensuing contests; and
AJR113,1,86 Whereas, Brett Favre became the National Football League's all-time leader
7in passing touchdowns, pass completions, and pass attempts, and can claim more
8victories as quarterback than any quarterback in NFL history; and
AJR113,1,129 Whereas, Brett Favre led the team in 22 post-season games, including 4 NFC
10Championship appearances, 2 Super Bowls, and a World Championship with a
11victory in Super Bowl XXXI—returning the Lombardi Trophy to Green Bay for the
12first time in 29 years; and
AJR113,2,213 Whereas, Brett Favre will be remembered among football's all-time elite by
14earning the NFL's `MVP' honor a record 3 times, capturing the Associated Press

1award over the 1995, 1996, and 1997 seasons, in addition to 9 Pro Bowl selections;

AJR113,2,63 Whereas, Brett and Deanna Favre established the Brett Favre Fourward
4Foundation in 1996 to provide aid to disadvantaged and disabled children who reside
5in Wisconsin and Mississippi, and the foundation has contributed more than $3
6million in the 2 states since it was created; and
AJR113,2,107 Whereas, Brett Favre has been an avid supporter of countless local and
8national charity events and organizations, including the Deanna Favre Hope
9Foundation, which provides assistance to women who are underserved or
10underinsured in their battle against breast cancer; and
AJR113,2,1411 Whereas, Brett Favre's legacy will live on beyond his many impressive records
12and statistics, as his leadership and love of football embody the heart of America's
13favorite game, earning him the respect and admiration of his fellow players, coaches,
14and fans; now, therefore, be it
AJR113,2,18 15Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
16Wisconsin legislature commend the many accomplishments of Brett Favre and his
17contributions to the Green Bay Packers and the entire state of Wisconsin, and wish
18him well in all of his future endeavors; and, be it further
AJR113,2,21 19Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
20resolution to Brett Favre and his wife, Deanna, and his 2 daughters, Brittany and
21Breleigh.
