AJR6,1,32 Whereas, Doris J. Hanson was born on October 24, 1925, in Madison,
3Wisconsin, and died on November 8, 2006; and
AJR6,1,54 Whereas, Doris J. Hanson graduated from Madison East High School and
5attended UW-Madison; and
AJR6,1,86 Whereas, Doris J. Hanson was appointed secretary of the Wisconsin
7Department of Administration by Governor Anthony Earl and served from 1983
8until 1987; and
AJR6,1,109 Whereas, Doris J. Hanson was elected a trustee of the Village of McFarland
10from 1988 to 1991 and village president from 1991 to 1995; and
AJR6,1,1211 Whereas, Doris J. Hanson was first elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 1992,
12serving in the 1993 through 1997 sessions; and
AJR6,2,213 Whereas, after her retirement from the legislature, Doris J. Hanson was
14appointed executive director of Technology for Educational Achievement (TEACH)

1Wisconsin by Governor Tommy G. Thompson and reappointed by Governor Scott
2McCallum, serving as its executive director from 1998 to 2002; and
AJR6,2,73 Whereas, Doris also served as commission member of the Commission for the
4Study of Administrative Value and Efficiency, the Governor's Blue Ribbon
5Commission on 21st Century Jobs, the Governor's Blue Ribbon Task Force on
6Telecommunications, the Governor's Glass Ceiling Commission, and the Human
7Resources Reform Commission; and
AJR6,2,108 Whereas, in September 2006, Doris J. Hanson was appointed to the Board of
9Administrative Oversight by Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson; now, therefore be

AJR6,2,14 11Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That: the members of the
12Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Doris J. Hanson
13contributed to this state and her community, express their sorrow at her death, and
14extend their condolences to her family and friends; and, be it further
AJR6,2,17 15Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
16resolution to Doris J. Hanson's brother, Frank Hanson; her nephew, Jeffrey Hanson
17of Reston, Virginia; and her niece, Gloria DeVall of Jacksonville, Florida.
