AJR65,1,1 Relating to: Rogers Memorial Hospital's centennial year.

AJR65,1,5 Whereas, 100 years ago, Dr. Arthur W. Rogers and his wife, Theresa Limberg Rogers, purchased a 200-acre estate on the shores of the Nashotah Lakes that included a 32-room Italian-style mansion built in 1882. Dr. and Mrs. Rogers converted the property into the Oconomowoc Health Resort; and

AJR65,1,9 Whereas, Oconomowoc Health Resort underwent many transformations, was under the management of a number of individuals, and was renamed Rogers Memorial Hospital before being re-established as a private, nonprofit hospital in 1970; and

AJR65,1,13 Whereas, starting in the mid-1990s, Rogers Memorial opened multiple sites for greater accessibility. In addition to the original Oconomowoc location, they also have a second full-service psychiatric hospital in Milwaukee and treatment centers in Brown Deer and Kenosha; and

AJR65,2,3 Whereas, Rogers Memorial employs a medical staff of nationally recognized experts in the diagnosis and treatment of various behavioral health concerns, through a continuum of inpatient, residential, and day treatment care; and

AJR65,2,7 Whereas, through collaboration with local, regional, and national organizations Rogers Memorial has raised awareness that mental illnesses are common, real, and highly treatable and has helped to reduce the stigma against these illnesses and the people dealing with them; and

AJR65,2,10 Whereas, Rogers Memorial has insured the best quality and most cost effective mental health and chemical dependency services through partnerships with area medical and surgical treatment providers; and

AJR65,2,12 Whereas, Rogers Memorial has served over 6,000 children, adolescents, adults, and older adults last year alone; now, therefore, be it

AJR65,2,16 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That on the occasion of Rogers Memorial Hospital's centennial year, administrators and staff from the past and present are congratulated on 100 years of improving the health and lives of countless individuals, and, be it further

AJR65,2,19 Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to Rogers Memorial Hospital with the legislature's best wishes of another 100 years of improving people's lives.
