AJR85,1,53 Whereas, U.S. Captain Christian Skoglund was born on August 2, 1976, in
4Racine, Wisconsin, and lost his life on November 8, 2007, while on a training mission
5in a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter near Aviano, Italy; and
AJR85,1,86 Whereas, Captain Christian Skoglund was a loving and devoted husband to his
7wife, Elizabeth Skoglund and faithful, generous son to Phil and Kay Skoglund of
8Racine; and
AJR85,1,129 Whereas, Captain Christian Skoglund graduated from Racine Park High
10School in 1994 and went to Bible School at Bodenseehof in Germany, participated in
11missions in Honduras and Mexico, graduated Wheaton College in Illinois in 2000
12with a Degree in Environmental Science; and
AJR85,2,213 Whereas, Captain Christian Skoglund graduated from the Rolling Thunder
14Army ROTC at Wheaton College and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in
15the United States Army. He graduated from Flight School at Fort Rucker, Alabama,

1in 2003, served two years in Korea, one tour in Kuwait, and was stationed in Italy;

AJR85,2,53 Whereas, Captain Christian Skoglund served with distinction and honor with
4the United States Army, Commander of G Company, 52nd Aviation Regiment, based
5in Aviano, Italy; and
AJR85,2,86 Whereas, Captain Christian Skoglund will always be remembered for his
7bravery, courage, and love of family and friends and gave unselfishly to his country,
8his state, and his community; and
AJR85,2,129 Whereas, Captain Christian Skoglund leaves to cherish his memory his wife,
10Elizabeth, his parents, Phil and Kay Skoglund, his siblings, Maja Kay, Erik, and
11Lars, and his extended family, the Nordbergs, Blacks, Riches, LeBres, Hattixes, and
12Skoglunds in addition to his many friends and co-workers; now, therefore, be it
AJR85,2,17 13Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of
14the state of Wisconsin commends the devoted service that Captain Christian
15Skoglund gave unselfishly to his country, his state, and his community; expresses its
16sorrow at his death; and extends its deepest sympathies to his family and friends;
17and, be it further
AJR85,2,20 18Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
19resolution to his wife, Elizabeth Skoglund, parents, Phil and Kay Skoglund, and his
20siblings, Maja Kay, Erik, and Lars.
