AR6,1,3 1Relating to: recognition of assembly chief clerk staff, Jody Nussbaum, on the
2occasion of her retirement from 32 years of faithful service to the Wisconsin
3state assembly.
AR6,1,54 Whereas, Jody Nussbaum began her career with the Wisconsin legislature on
5October 13, 1972; and
AR6,1,86 Whereas, Jody's job titles changed many times over the years, but she has been
7up at the front desk in the assembly chamber every year, for 17 complete assembly
8sessions; and
AR6,1,119 Whereas, including, but not limited to, New Year's Day in 1973 which was
10Inauguration Day, Jody's first session day, and one that happened to last until
11midnight; and
AR6,1,1312 Whereas, not to exclude, coming in costume on a session day which fell on
13Halloween, whereby Jody appeared as Marge Simpson, bright blue hair and all; and
AR6,1,1514 Whereas, Jody was present before, during, and after the process of computer
15automation at the front desk; and

1Whereas, Jody worked both the legislative and business sides of the chief clerk's
2office, mentoring and training numerous staff throughout the years; and
AR6,2,53 Whereas, there was a brief hiatus in Jody's legislative career to become a
4domestic engineer when her family moved to Green Bay, but she still worked as an
5LTE, commuting from Green Bay to fill in as journal clerk at the front desk; and
AR6,2,76 Whereas, Jody has been at the front desk for 18 Inauguration days, working
7under 10 chief clerks and 11 speakers, and knew many people at the Capitol; and
AR6,2,98 Whereas, Jody's roots began in Madison, Wisconsin, whereby she was one of 11
9children; and
AR6,2,1110 Whereas, Jody married Dennis Nussbaum in April 1975 and had two children,
11Sara and Megan, and two grandchildren, Brett and Cole; and
AR6,2,1412 Whereas, Jody was actively involved in Girl Scouts for many years, participated
13in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County taking the role as a Big Sister, and is
14known to some as a skillful seamstress; and
AR6,2,1615 Whereas, it is expected that retirement will afford Jody more time to be with
16her family and grandchildren; now, therefore be it further
AR6,2,19 17Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin assembly,
18express sincere thanks to Jody Nussbaum for her years of service in the assembly
19chief clerk's office and wish her well in her new chapter of life; and, be it further
AR6,2,21 20Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk, in the presence of the members of the
21assembly, shall present a copy of this resolution to Jody Nussbaum.
