28. of the statutes; relating to: fishing licenses for nonresident disabled

Under current law, a person is generally required to obtain a fishing license to
fish in this state. The fee for an annual resident fishing license is ordinarily $19.25.
The fee for an annual nonresident fishing license is $49.25. Under current law the
fee for an annual fishing license for a resident who is a veteran with a 70 percent or
greater military-related disability is $2.25.
Under this bill the fee for an annual fishing license for a nonresident who is a
veteran with a 70 percent or greater military-related disability is $2.25.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB361, s. 1 4Section 1. 29.193 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB361,2,35 29.193 (3) Annual fishing license for disabled persons. The department or
6a county clerk appointed under s. 29.024 (6) (a) 2. shall issue, subject to s. 29.024 (2g),

1an annual disabled person fishing license to any resident person at the time the
2resident person applies for this license if the resident does one of the following
3applies:
SB361,2,64 (a) Produces The person is a resident who produces a certificate from a licensed
5physician or optometrist stating that his or her sight is impaired to the degree that
6he or she cannot read ordinary newspaper print with or without corrective glasses.
SB361,2,97 (b) Produces The person is a resident who produces evidence that shows that
8he or she is receiving benefits under 42 USC 401 to 433, 42 USC 1381 to 1381d or 45
9USC 231a
(a) (1) (iv) or (v) because of a determination that he or she is disabled.
SB361,2,1310 (c) Produces The person is a resident or nonresident who produces evidence
11that shows that he or she is a veteran, as defined in 38 USC 101, and is receiving
12disability compensation benefits under 38 USC 1101 to 1163 for disabilities that
13result in a disability rating that is 70% or greater under 38 USC 1114.
SB361, s. 2 14Section 2. 29.563 (3) (a) 9. of the statutes is amended to read:

16veteran under s. 29.193 (3) (c) or (3m): $2.25.
SB361, s. 3 17Section 3. 29.563 (3) (b) 8. of the statutes is created to read:

19veteran under s. 29.193 (3) (c) or (3m): $2.25.
