1An Act to repeal 137.01 (9) of the statutes;
relating to: fees charged by notary

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a notary public may receive the following fees:
1. For drawing and copying a protest of the nonpayment of a promissory note
or bill of exchange, $1.
2. For drawing and copying any protest other than those listed in item 1, above,
50 cents.
3. For drawing, copying and serving every notice of nonpayment of a note or bill,
or nonacceptance of such a bill, 50 cents.
4. For drawing any affidavit or other paper or proceeding, 50 cents per page and
12 cents per copy.
5. For taking the acknowledgement of deeds and for other services authorized
by law, the same fees as are allowed to other officials for similar services, but not to
exceed 50 cents per document.
This bill repeals the fee schedule.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
