SJR59,1,1 1Relating to: Rogers Memorial Hospital's centennial year.
SJR59,1,52 Whereas, 100 years ago, Dr. Arthur W. Rogers and his wife, Theresa Limberg
3Rogers, purchased a 200-acre estate on the shores of the Nashotah Lakes that
4included a 32-room Italian-style mansion built in 1882. Dr. and Mrs. Rogers
5converted the property into the Oconomowoc Health Resort; and
SJR59,1,96 Whereas, Oconomowoc Health Resort underwent many transformations, was
7under the management of a number of individuals, and was renamed Rogers
8Memorial Hospital before being re-established as a private, nonprofit hospital in
91970; and
SJR59,1,1310 Whereas, starting in the mid-1990s, Rogers Memorial opened multiple sites for
11greater accessibility. In addition to the original Oconomowoc location, they also have
12a second full-service psychiatric hospital in Milwaukee and treatment centers in
13Brown Deer and Kenosha; and

1Whereas, Rogers Memorial employs a medical staff of nationally recognized
2experts in the diagnosis and treatment of various behavioral health concerns,
3through a continuum of inpatient, residential, and day treatment care; and
SJR59,2,74 Whereas, through collaboration with local, regional, and national
5organizations Rogers Memorial has raised awareness that mental illnesses are
6common, real, and highly treatable and has helped to reduce the stigma against
7these illnesses and the people dealing with them; and
SJR59,2,108 Whereas, Rogers Memorial has insured the best quality and most cost effective
9mental health and chemical dependency services through partnerships with area
10medical and surgical treatment providers; and
SJR59,2,1211 Whereas, Rogers Memorial has served over 6,000 children, adolescents, adults,
12and older adults last year alone; now, therefore, be it
SJR59,2,16 13Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That on the occasion of
14Rogers Memorial Hospital's centennial year, administrators and staff from the past
15and present are congratulated on 100 years of improving the health and lives of
16countless individuals, and, be it further
SJR59,2,19 17Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution
18to Rogers Memorial Hospital with the legislature's best wishes of another 100 years
19of improving people's lives.
