SJR62,1,2 1Relating to: the life and service of United States Army Specialist Eric D. Clark, who
2lost his life during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
SJR62,1,63 Whereas, on May 11, 2006, Specialist Eric D. Clark, of Pleasant Prairie,
4Wisconsin, a member of the U.S. Army 3rd Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment,
510th Mountain Division, died as a result of wounds received during enemy action in
6Baghdad, Iraq; and
SJR62,1,117 Whereas, Spc. Clark was born July 14, 1983, to parents Joanne (Leipzig)
8Marfechuk and Kevin Clark. He graduated from Indian Trail Academy in Kenosha,
9Wisconsin in 2001. While in high school he enlisted in the Army's accelerated
10program, allowing him to achieve a higher military rank when he began his service
11career; and
SJR62,2,212 Whereas, Spc. Clark completed basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in May
132003. His first duty station was at Camp Hovey, Korea, with Battery A, 2nd
14Battalion, 17th Field Artillery — the "Steel Battalion." In July 2004, Eric transferred

1to the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York, and deployed to Iraq in August
22005; and
SJR62,2,53 Whereas, Spc. Clark leaves to cherish his memory, his parents and stepparents,
4Joanne and Bob Marfechuk and Kevin and Paula Clark, his siblings, Jade, Evan,
5Meg, and Audra Clark, and Jared and Anna Buckingham; now, therefore, be it
SJR62,2,9 6Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
7the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Spc. Eric D. Clark,
8mourns his death, and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and
9colleagues; and, be it further
SJR62,2,12 10Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
11resolution to his parents and stepparents, Joanne and Bob Marfechuk and Kevin and
12Paula Clark.
