SJR83,1,1 Relating to: the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin.

SJR83,1,3 Whereas, dangerous situations often confront emergency medical personnel — situations that set the profession apart from other routine jobs; and

SJR83,1,5 Whereas, it is a difficult and sometimes daunting time to be part of the public health and safety professions; and

SJR83,1,8 Whereas, the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin (PAAW) is a leading organization serving the needs of its members in the ambulance and medical transportation industry in Wisconsin; and

SJR83,1,11 Whereas, PAAW and the American Ambulance Association are dedicated to excellence in the ambulance services industry and provide services to enable their members to effectively address the needs of the communities they serve; and

SJR83,1,13 Whereas, PAAW and the American Ambulance Association advocate the highest quality patient care through ethical and sound business practices; and

SJR83,2,2 Whereas, PAAW acknowledges and appreciates that the Emergency Medical System in Wisconsin functions largely because 80 percent of the services are provided by professionals identified as "volunteers" who contribute over 50 million dollars in in-kind services to their communities; and

SJR83,2,4 Whereas, PAAW has great admiration and respect for those who dedicate their time and talents to the emergency medical care profession; and

SJR83,2,6 Whereas, PAAW wishes to recognize the heroic and courageous work performed by emergency medical personnel every day; and

SJR83,2,9 Whereas, PAAW and the American Ambulance Association now seek to honor those in Wisconsin who exemplify the best qualities in the ambulance profession with the third annual "Stars of Life" recognition program; and

SJR83,2,14 Whereas, on February 20,2008, individuals will be honored as "Stars of Life" for demonstrating outstanding service to their profession through communication skills, customer service, and job performance while exhibiting exceptional professionalism, kindness, and selflessness in performing their duties; now, therefore, be it

SJR83,2,18 Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature congratulate PAAW on it "Stars of Life" program and commend those who will receive the award for their hard work and dedication to their jobs, their patients, and to the communities they serve.
