AB101,1,2 1An Act to amend 350.12 (3) (b) of the statutes; relating to: the registration of
2antique snowmobiles.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the owner of a snowmobile that has a model year of 1966 or
earlier may register the snowmobile with the Department of Natural Resources as
an antique snowmobile. Registration of a snowmobile as an antique snowmobile
entitles the owner to registration decals of a distinctive nature and exempts the
owner from having to reregister the snowmobile during the time that he or she owns
it.
Under this bill, the owner of a snowmobile that is at least 30 years old at the
time that the owner applies for registration may register the snowmobile as an
antique snowmobile.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB101, s. 1 3Section 1. 350.12 (3) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB101,2,84 350.12 (3) (b) Any person who is a resident of this state and the owner of a
5snowmobile which has a model year of 1966 or earlier that is at least 30 years old at

1the time that the owner applies for registration
may, upon application, register the
2snowmobile as an antique snowmobile. Upon payment of a fee of $20, the applicant
3shall be furnished a registration certificate and decals of a distinctive design, in lieu
4of the design on the decals issued under par. (d). The design shall show that the
5snowmobile is an antique. The registration shall be valid without payment of any
6additional registration fee while the snowmobile is owned by the applicant. Unless
7inconsistent with this paragraph, the provisions of this chapter applicable to other
8snowmobiles shall apply to antique snowmobiles.
