This bill requires the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to permit the use
of golf carts in Governor Tommy G. Thompson Centennial State Park and the
Peshtigo River State Forest by persons age 16 and over. Under the bill, DNR must
promulgate rules that limit the use of the golf carts to at least the same hours and
in at least the same places as golf carts were used in those areas before the state
purchased the properties.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB264, s. 1 4Section 1. 27.01 (17) of the statutes is created to read:
AB264,2,45 27.01 (17) Limited golf cart use. The department shall permit the use of golf
6carts by persons age 16 and over in Governor Tommy G. Thompson Centennial State
7Park and the Peshtigo River State Forest. The department shall promulgate a rule

1that specifies when and where golf carts may be used in the state park and the state
2forest. The rule shall allow golf carts to be used for at least the same hours and in
3at least the same places as golf carts were used in the state park and the state forest
4before they were acquired by the state.
