1An Act to amend 440.14 (1) (b) of the statutes;
relating to: authorizing the
2release of certain personal identifying information collected by the Department
3of Regulation and Licensing.

Under current law, if the Department of Regulation and Licensing requires an
individual to provide certain personal identifying information for issuance or
renewal of a credential or for obtaining a product or service, the department must
allow the individual to opt out of being included in a release of such information the
department provides in cases where the release includes information about ten or
more individuals. Currently, an individual's decision to opt out applies to the release
of the individual's name, social security number, telephone number, street address,
post-office box number, and zip code.
Under the bill, an individual's decision to opt out applies only to the release of
the individual's social security number, telephone number, street name and number,
and post-office box number.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
