AB513,1,2 1An Act to create 238.126 of the statutes; relating to: a program to employ
210,000 individuals in southeastern Wisconsin.

This bill requires the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to develop
and implement a program under which private employers will employ at least 10,000
individuals in southeast Wisconsin. The program must include a focus on employing
individuals who are Black, Hispanic, Eskimo, Aleut, native Hawaiian,
Asian-Indian, or of Asian-Pacific origin. Under this bill, the initial 10,000
individuals must be employed under the program by December 1, 2012.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB513, s. 1 3Section 1. 238.126 of the statutes is created to read:
AB513,1,8 4238.126 Southeastern Wisconsin employment program. The
5corporation, in consultation with private employers, shall develop, implement, and
6maintain a program for private employers to employ at least 10,000 individuals in
7the southeastern portion of the state, including Milwaukee County. The corporation
8shall develop the program to include all of the following:

1(1) A focus on employing individuals who are minority group members, as
2defined in s. 16.287 (1) (f).
AB513,2,4 3(2) The requirement that the initial 10,000 individuals be employed no later
4than December 1, 2012.
