7of numerous diseases that affect our nation's citizens such as salmonellosis, West

10preventive medicine, control of zoonotic diseases, and scientific research; and

Whereas, veterinarians have advanced human and animal health by inventing
12and refining techniques and instrumentations, such as artificial hips, bone plates,
13splints, and arthroscopy; and

Whereas, the 2011 legislature appreciates the importance of veterinarians in

Whereas, Wisconsin veterinarians are dedicated to preserving the
8human-animal bond and promoting the highest standards of science-based, ethical
9animal welfare; now, therefore, be it

10Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature
11hereby recognizes 2011 as World Veterinary Year; and, be it further
