3Champion Green Bay Packers; and
SJR37,1,64 Whereas, Clay Matthews was born May 14, 1986, and he played college football
5at the University of Southern California. He was drafted by the Packers in the 2009
6NFL Draft; and
SJR37,1,97 Whereas, Clay Matthews set a Packers rookie record with ten sacks in 2009 on
8his way to earning Pro Bowl honors, the first Packers rookie to be named to the
9all-star game since 1978; and

11Writers of America All-Rookie team, earned the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week
12honors twice, and was once named NFC Defensive Player of the Week; and

14in the Super Bowl XLV victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, helping the Packers win
15their fourth Super Bowl title and their first title since Super Bowl XXXI; and

2as Duchenne, a muscle disease that affects children; and
SJR37,2,73 Whereas, Clay Matthews will serve as the honorary chair of the October 1, 2011,
4AIDS Walk Wisconsin, the state's largest AIDS fundraiser for HIV prevention, care,
5and treatment services in Wisconsin, to raise awareness so that the number of new
6HIV cases are reduced and so that people living with HIV get the health care they
7need; now, therefore, be it
SJR37,2,11 8Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin
9legislature commends Clay Matthews for his commitment as honorary chair of the
10October 1, 2011, AIDS Walk Wisconsin and declares October 1, 2011, to be "Clay
11Matthews AIDS Walk Wisconsin Day"; and, be it further
SJR37,2,13 12Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
13resolution to Clay Matthews.
