SJR4,1,1 Relating to: commending the Stars of Life honorees.

SJR4,1,4 Whereas, emergency management service (EMS) professionals serve thousands of Wisconsinites every year and provide critical life-saving treatments and rescue operations throughout the state; and

SJR4,1,6 Whereas, emergency medical personnel often work in dangerous situations to help those in need of immediate care, placing their own safety at risk; and

SJR4,1,9 Whereas, the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin (PAAW) and the American Ambulance Association (AAA) are dedicated to advocating and promoting EMS and excellence in emergency medical care; and

SJR4,1,13 Whereas, PAAW and AAA annually recognize as Stars of Life those EMS professionals who stand out among their peers for their exceptional achievements in emergency care and on September 22, 2010, honored 20 Stars of Life at a ceremony held in Green Bay, Wisconsin; and

SJR4,2,4 Whereas, Stars of Life honorees are nominated by their respective ambulance service directors and awarded for accomplishments in EMS care as outstanding ambulance service employees; on-duty or off-duty service above the call of duty; setting significant records; skills and abilities as an EMS provider; positive image and commitment demonstrated; or local leadership in development of community partnerships or programs; and

SJR4,2,7 Whereas, the 2010 Stars of Life honorees include those serving both rural and urban areas and represent the exceptional care that EMS professionals provide residents of our state; now, therefore, be it

SJR4,2,11 Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature congratulate the 2010 Stars of Life honorees and commend those receiving this award for their achievements and continuing dedication to their patients and communities.
