AB304,1,2 1An Act relating to: grants for farm to school programs and making an
2appropriation.

Current law authorizes the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer
Protection to make grants for programs to connect schools with nearby farms to
provide children with locally produced foods, provide nutritional and agricultural
education, and improve farmers' incomes. The 2013-15 budget act, 2013 Wisconsin
Act 20
, did not provide funding for these farm to school grants. This bill provides
funding for farm to school grants in the 2013-15 fiscal biennium.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB304,1 3Section 1. Fiscal changes.
AB304,2,74 (1) Farm to school grants. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the
5statutes for the appropriation to the department of agriculture, trade and consumer
6protection under section 20.115 (4) (as) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2013,

1the dollar amount is increased by $125,000 for the first fiscal year of the fiscal
2biennium in which this subsection takes effect to provide grants for farm to school
3programs. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the
4appropriation to the department of agriculture, trade and consumer protection
5under section 20.115 (4) (as) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2013, the dollar
6amount is increased by $125,000 for the second fiscal year of the fiscal biennium in
7which this subsection takes effect to provide grants for farm to school programs.
