AB890,1,2 An Act relating to: youth summer jobs programs in first class cities and making an appropriation.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, $422,400 in general purpose revenues (GPR) is appropriated to the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) in each of fiscal years 2013-14 and 2014-15 for the implementation and operation of youth summer jobs programs in first class cities (presently only Milwaukee). This bill appropriates an additional $1,000,000 in GPR to DWD in each of those fiscal years for that purpose.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB890,1 Section 1. Fiscal changes.

AB890,2,7 (1) Youth summer jobs programs. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of workforce development under section 20.445 (1) (fm) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2013, the dollar amount is increased by $1,000,000 for the first fiscal year of the fiscal biennium in which this subsection takes effect for the purpose for which the appropriation is made. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of workforce development under section 20.445 (1) (fm) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2013, the dollar amount is increased by $1,000,000 for the second fiscal year of the fiscal biennium in which this subsection takes effect for the purpose for which the appropriation is made.
