AJR91,1,1 Relating to: U.S.A. Olympic long track speed skater Tucker Fredricks.

AJR91,1,4 Whereas, Tucker Fredricks, a native of Janesville, Wisconsin, has secured a position on the United States Olympic long track speed-skating team for a third consecutive Olympic Games; and

AJR91,1,7 Whereas, Tucker Fredricks, born in Janesville in 1984, will seek to become the third straight American to win the Olympic 500-meter speed-skating event when he competes in the games at Sochi, Russia; and

AJR91,1,10 Whereas, Tucker Fredricks, the son of Dan and Shawn Fredricks of Janesville, finished twenty-fourth at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, Italy, and twelfth in the Games in 2010 in Vancouver, Canada; and

AJR91,1,15 Whereas, Tucker Fredricks is a two-time national champion who won the overall World Cup title in the 500 meters in 2007 and again in 2010, took bronze in his event in the 2007 World Single Distance Championships, and has earned thirty-one World Cup medals in the 500-meter event, including twelve gold, six silver, and thirteen bronze since 2002; and

AJR91,2,3 Whereas, Tucker Fredricks, a 2002 graduate of Joseph A. Craig High School in Janesville, Wisconsin, holds the national record time in the 500 meters; now, therefore, be it

AJR91,2,8 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature expresses pride in the long and excellent speed-skating career of Wisconsin native Tucker Fredricks, honors his accomplishments in athletics on the world and national stages, and wishes him success and the best of luck in the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
