2David Andrew Johnson.
SJR19,1,53 Whereas, David was born on November 28, 1987, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to
4Andrew and Laura Johnson, and died on January 25, 2012, in Kandahar Province,
5Afghanistan, while conducting a dismounted patrol; and
SJR19,1,96 Whereas, David was a 2006 graduate of Mayville High School in Mayville,
7Wisconsin, attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, graduating in
82010 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and completed his basic training in the
9United States Army at Fort Sill in Oklahoma in 2006; and
SJR19,2,210 Whereas, in 2007 David completed his AIT Chaplain Assistant training in Fort
11Jackson, South Carolina, and was awarded an ROTC scholarship with the Bear
12Battalion associated with Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. David
13was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2010. In January 2011, David
14graduated from the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Benning,

1Georgia. He also completed Combatives Level I and II and the Stryker Brigade
2Combat Team Leader's Course; and
SJR19,2,53 Whereas, David served with distinction in the United States Army 5th
4Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry
5Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; and
SJR19,2,76 Whereas, David embodied the Army's core values of loyalty, duty, respect,
7selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage and he is sorely missed; and
SJR19,2,118 Whereas, David was the beloved son of Andrew and Laura Johnson; brother to
9Michael, Matthew, and Emily; and dear friend to many, and his family and fellow
10citizens are proud to have known him and admire his devotion to family, faith, and
11country; now, therefore, be it
SJR19,2,15 12Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
13the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of David Andrew Johnson
14and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it
15further
SJR19,2,18 16Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
17resolution to David's parents, Andrew and Laura Johnson, and David's brothers,
18Michael and Matthew, and sister, Emily.
