2keeping Wisconsin drivers and roadways safe.
AJR118,1,53 Whereas, Wisconsin winters are routinely some of the most intense and severe
4winters in the country, with snow, sleet, and ice disrupting the day-to-day lives of
5every Wisconsin resident; and
AJR118,1,96 Whereas, with more than 100,000 miles of highways and streets in the state of
7Wisconsin, it is incumbent on our state's municipal and county highway workers to
8ensure our roadways remain as safe as possible, no matter the weather conditions;
9and
AJR118,1,1310 Whereas, the 2,000 to 3,000 snowplow drivers work whenever they are called
11upon, under adverse weather conditions, to ensure that Wisconsin's roadways
12remain driveable for Wisconsin residents, tourists, and commerce passing through
13our state; and

1Whereas, many of these drivers are operating snowplows with years of
2experience and using their expertise to keep Wisconsin drivers and themselves safe
3while they plow our roads; and
AJR118,2,64 Whereas, snowplow drivers, in coordination with local units of government, use
5the most up-to-date technology leading up to substantial storms to keep our
6roadways driveable; and
AJR118,2,87 Whereas, these drivers, working around the clock, often put their own personal
8safety at risk to keep Wisconsin roads and highways open; now, therefore, be it
AJR118,2,13 9Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
10Wisconsin State Legislature do hereby honor all of our state's snowplow drivers for
11their constant dedication to keeping our roadways safe for everyone while
12conducting their job with the utmost professionalism and dedication to safety on our
13state's roads.
