AJR74,1,3 Relating to: acknowledging the environmental, economic, and social threat of climate change due to human activity and the need to address it at the state level.

AJR74,1,6 Whereas, credible climate experts, including the foremost Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, agree that our atmosphere is warming and human contribution to climate change is undeniable; and

AJR74,1,8 Whereas, there has been a dramatic increase in extreme weather events across the nation, including wildfires, droughts, and heat waves; and

AJR74,1,11 Whereas, sustained use of carbon and other pollutants will continue to contribute to a changing climate and negatively impact environmental and public health; and

AJR74,1,13 Whereas, energy-efficient technologies can help reduce Wisconsin's carbon footprint, save Wisconsinites money, and lead to energy self-sufficiency; and

AJR74,2,3 Whereas, changing temperature and precipitation patterns have systemic impacts on public health, including heightened instances of asthma attacks and insect-transmitted diseases; and

AJR74,2,6 Whereas, our state faces serious adverse impacts to our industrial, agricultural, and tourism industries if we do not address the need to proactively combat climate change; now, therefore, be it

AJR74,2,10 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That: the Wisconsin legislature acknowledges the grave impact of climate change caused by human activity and will take meaningful and responsible action now to address Wisconsin's role in mitigating global climate change.
