SJR107,1,53 Whereas, Wisconsin's educational institutions including world-class public
4schools and technical colleges are an invaluable resource for Career and Technical
5Education (CTE); and
SJR107,1,106 Whereas, CTE programs provide multiple pathways for students to become
7college and career ready while still in high school and are utilized by nearly
8two-thirds of our state's high schoolers — with 88,000 taking CTE courses in areas
9such as health occupations, manufacturing, technology and engineering,
10agriculture, and business; and
SJR107,1,1411 Whereas, Wisconsin benefits from tremendous cooperation between
12businesses, schools, and technical colleges that creates opportunity for students to
13explore careers, earn industry certification, and gain postsecondary credit while
14working toward high school graduation; and

1Whereas, Wisconsin has been a national leader in skill, quality, and work ethic
2due in no small part to the foresight and focus on technical education opportunities;

5legislature recognizes the month of February 2016 as Career and Technical
6Education Month in Wisconsin.
