Whereas, in 1995, President Clinton began National Homeownership Week as
3a way to increase homeownership in the United States; and

Whereas, in 2002, President George W. Bush expanded National
5Homeownership Week to the entire month of June, recognizing the importance of
6homeownership and the impact it has on communities; and

Whereas, homeownership is a part of the American Dream and it is a priority
8of this body to make continued efforts to ensure homeownership is more attainable
9for residents and families all across Wisconsin; and

Whereas, cutting government red tape and regulation and reducing taxes are
11integral to making homeownership a reality; and

Whereas, continued efforts over the last eight years to keep property taxes in
13check has helped to make homeownership possible for thousands of Wisconsinites,
14and has helped families and the elderly to stay in the homes they love; and

1Whereas, because of the lowest tax burden in 50 years, hard-working
2Wisconsinites can keep more money in their pockets and keep the dream of home
3ownership alive; and

Whereas, with historic investments in K-12 education, as well as investments
5in workforce development, and sound fiscal management of our state budget,
6Wisconsin continues to be a great place to live, work, raise a family, and own a home;

Whereas, during this month, we would also like to recognize those who help to
9make homeownership possible, such as realtors, financial counselors, builders, and
10others; now, therefore, be it

assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
12Legislature hereby recognizes June 2019 as National Homeownership Month in
13Wisconsin.
