1An Act to amend 20.370 (1) (mu); and
to create 29.063 (8) of the statutes;
2relating to: chronic wasting disease testing and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Natural Resources to provide self-service
chronic wasting disease testing kiosks where hunters may drop off deer carcass
samples for testing. The bill allows DNR to contract with private entities to conduct
the testing of samples and to pay the private entity per sample tested. The bill
provides in the 2019-21 fiscal biennium $200,000 for the testing kiosks.

623.11, 27.01, 30.203, 30.277, and 90.21, and chs. 29 and 169, for activities conducted
7under the ecological inventory and monitoring program of the endangered resources
1program, for the aquatic and terrestrial resources inventory under s. 23.09 (2) (km),
2for chronic wasting disease testing kiosks under s. 29.063, and for payments of
3$53,700 in each fiscal year, to be credited to the appropriation account under s.
420.285 (1) (k), to the University of Wisconsin System for outdoor skills training under
5s. 29.598.

14under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of natural resources
15under s. 20.370 (1) (mu), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2019-20 is increased by
16$100,000 to provide self-service chronic wasting disease testing kiosks under s.
1729.063 (8). In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the
18department of natural resources under s. 20.370 (1) (mu), the dollar amount for fiscal
19year 2020-21 is increased by $100,000 to provide self-service chronic wasting
20disease testing kiosks under s. 29.063 (8).
