1Relating to: applying to Congress under the provisions of Article V of the
2Constitution of the United States for a convention to propose an amendment
3establishing term limits for members of the United States House of
4Representatives and the United States Senate.

Whereas, the legislature of the State of Wisconsin hereby makes an application
6to Congress, as provided by Article V of the Constitution of the United States, to call
7a convention limited to proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United
8States to set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be elected as a member
9of the United States House of Representatives, and to set a limit on the number of
10terms that a person may be elected as a member of the United States Senate; and

Whereas, this application shall be considered as covering the same subject
12matter as the applications from other states to Congress to call a convention to set
13a limit on the number of terms that a person may be elected to the United States
14House of Representatives and the United States Senate; and this application shall
15be aggregated with same for the purpose of attaining the two-thirds of states
1necessary to require Congress to call a limited convention on this subject, but shall
2not be aggregated with any other applications on any other subject; now, therefore,
3be it

4Resolved by the
senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
5the State of Wisconsin herewith respectfully applies to Congress, under the
6provisions of Article V of the Constitution of the United States, for the calling of a
7convention for the limited purpose of proposing an amendment to the Constitution
8of the United States to set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be elected
9as a member of the United States House of Representatives or as a member of the
10United States Senate; and, be it further

11Resolved, That the secretary of state of the State of Wisconsin be, and is
12hereby, directed to forward a proper authenticated copy of this resolution to the
13President of the Senate of the United States, and to the Speaker of the House of
14Representatives of the United States; and, be it further

15Resolved, That this resolution constitutes a continuing application for a
16convention for proposing an amendment in accordance with Article V of the
17Constitution of the United States until such a convention is convened on the same
18subject or until the legislature of the State of Wisconsin rescinds this resolution.
