AB844,1,1 An Act relating to: methamphetamine addiction treatment grants.

This bill requires the Department of Health Services to request supplemental funding from the Joint Committee on Finance and, if received, to award grants to provide trainings to substance use disorder treatment providers on treatment models for methamphetamine addiction. The DHS appropriations may be supplemented after JCF approves a request by DHS for the funding, and JCF is not required to find an emergency to make the supplement.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB844,1 Section 1. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB844,2,5 (1) Methamphetamine addiction treatment grants. The department of health services shall request supplemental funding from the joint committee on finance and, upon receiving a supplement, shall award grants of up to $150,000 cumulatively in fiscal year 2021-22 and up to $300,000 cumulatively in fiscal year 2022-23 to provide trainings to substance use disorder treatment providers on treatment models for methamphetamine addiction. The joint committee on finance, upon its approval of a request by the department of health services and without needing a finding of emergency, shall supplement any applicable appropriation of the department of health services for the purposes of this subsection.
